A tradition in the mountains of western North Carolina is to make soap from animal fats. Our ancestors used this handcrafted soap for everything from cleansing your body to washing your laundry.
After the Great Depression, people had little or no money to spend on necessary things needed to survive. Town folk called them Hillbillies, who would take their handcrafted items and farm products to the General Store. The clerk bartered commodities from the entire community since jobs were scarce. This same type of exchange is taking place in today's failing economy.
In modern times, the soap making process is much more scientific through new technology by balancing the PH value to prevent skin irritation, which our early predecessors knew very little about. All of the soap we make is selected by using the best ingredients available to make soap that absolutely feels wonderful on your skin.Our soaps use a variety of base oils to produce a hard bar with explosive lather. Olive oil is one of the best oils used to enhance skin conditioning, and leaves a silky feeling. All of our soap formulas are custom tailored to meet three categories. We have a soft Natural Soap
Most of our soap has a light fragrance intended to satisfy the needs of most people. We also make some soap unscented especially for people who are sensitive to perfumes and dyes. Essential oils have little effect on sensitive skin and the aroma produces a deep long lasting therapy.
We cut our soap into a 4.5 ounce size, which is suitable to replace the traditional family size soap purchased in most retail stores.
All of the soap we make requires four weeks to properly cure before packaging them for sale. This soap can not be made overnight, it is very labor intensive requiring adequate time to process. The soap you purchase from the store is made using harsh detergents and other chemicals which dry out your skin requiring frequent applications of lotion.
